The following are the Facilities you
Need to Put in Place to Get Started as a Distributor of Dangote Cement;
1.
Draft out a business plan for your
Cement Company: A business plan actually gives you direction and opens your eyes
to the wealth of resources you have at your disposal. Who are your target
prospects? How much would it take you to start a cement business and haul
products to your selling point? What things can you add to make your product
more superior than your competitors? These are some of the question you must
answer in your business plan.
2.
You need to study your competitors:
Who are your competitors? What are they really doing that you can do better?
You need to really study and understand their strengths and weaknesses. It can
be your advantage!
3.
You need to secure a Warehouse: You need
to secure a warehouse that can accommodate at least 500 – 1,000 bags of cement.
4.
You need to make an arrangement for a
vehicle: Cement distribution business requires a supply vehicle, you can buy a
van or mini truck. A supply vehicle will help you sell faster, and also make the
work more convenient for you. Also a haulage truck will be needed to haul your
cement products from the factory at Obajana, Kogi state or Benue state. On the
other hand, you don’t really need to own the truck, a pay per delivery contract
will do.
5.
Try and learn from the Gurus and not from
the “GOOROS”: In Africa today, there are so many struggling businesses. The
reason is because they have been listening to the “GOOROS.” In other to succeed
in this business you need to speak with someone already in the business. You
have to learn from someone with a cement business outside your community. There
are many established business owners who are happy to give advice to serious
entrepreneurs. Some of these established business owners love industrious young
people and they are ready to go extra mile in helping them. You don’t need to
be scared. The worst answer you can get is a “NO.” Rejection is also part of
the game.
Like I said earlier there is so much
money to be made as a cement distributor. Even right here in Nigeria, you can
still be a cement distributor while you are still working your day job. Isn’t
that really amazing? You can make a realistic profit of about #500,000 monthly
by distributing cement. All you really need is action, hard work, and dedication.
Lastly, I want you to also know that
there are other great cement companies out there like IBETO, LAFARGE WAPCO, CCNN,
BUA, etc. you can contact them and become their distributor.
